Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Genesis/Mega Drive. Players control Sonic the Hedgehog, who can run at near supersonic speeds and sets out on a quest to defeat Dr. Robotnik, a scientist who has imprisoned animals in robots and seeks the powerful Chaos Emeralds.

Tips
Play it better
- Finish an act with 50 or more rings and jump into the giant ring at the end to reach a special stage.
- Take the high paths; they're usually faster and safer.
- In Labyrinth Zone, grab air bubbles before the drowning countdown runs out.
- Keep at least one ring at all times so a hit doesn't kill you.
- Bounce off bosses carefully; Robotnik needs eight hits.
