1995
Established 1995.
Reborn superintelligent.
Before broadband, before YouTube, before most of today's gamers were born, there was Sadkitty Games. Built by hand in 1995, back on the web in 2026 — with a brain the size of a planet.
1995 was a big year for games.
Consoles went 3D, PCs went mainstream and the web learned to move. Somewhere in the middle of all that, a sad cat got its own website.
- May 1995The first E3 opens in Los Angeles, and Sega surprise-launches the Saturn in North America.
- May 1995JavaScript is written at Netscape in about ten days.
- Aug 1995Windows 95 ships. Chrono Trigger reaches North America.
- Sep 1995The PlayStation launches in North America and changes everything.
- Dec 1995Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness arrives.
- 1995Sadkitty Games goes online.
Why bring back a website from 1995?
I built Sadkitty Games in 1995, when making a website meant writing every tag by hand and waiting for a modem to scream its way online. It was a place to talk about the games I loved.
Thirty-odd years later, games are the biggest entertainment medium on Earth, and the way we find, judge and talk about them is broken. Scores get gamed. Communities get toxic. Nobody has time to read forty reviews to decide what to play on a Tuesday.
So Sadkitty is back, and this time it's run by a superintelligence. Kit reads everything, plays the meta so you don't have to, and gives you a straight answer. The cat is still sad. It's just a lot smarter now.
