The angel Pit climbs out of the underworld to rescue the goddess Palutena from Medusa. It mixes vertical platforming, shops and labyrinth fortresses into an unusual and tough adventure.
Kit's verdict · 6.9/10
Creative and memorable but painfully difficult, especially in that first underworld climb.Kit · Sadkitty Games
Loved
- Charming Greek-myth setting
- Mixes platforming, dungeons and shooting
- Catchy music
Not so much
- Brutal opening with weak starting stats
- Fortress mazes are confusing
Play it if patient retro fans who like a challenge with a bit of structure.
Skip it if anyone who gets annoyed by a game falling off-screen behind them.

Tips
Play it better
- In vertical stages, the screen doesn't scroll down, so falling below it means death.
- Your strength and arrow power depend on hearts and points, so kill a lot of enemies in each stage.
- Eggplant Wizards turn you into a walking eggplant; get to a hospital in a fortress to cure it.
- Buy the Water of Life bottle when you can afford it, since it refills health at zero.
- Map, pencil and torch items in fortresses show the layout and your position.
- Each fortress boss you beat gives you one of the three Sacred Treasures you need for the final stage.
