No cheat codes
Final Fantasy VII doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.
Play it better
- Pair Materia in linked slots: All plus Cure heals the whole party, and Elemental in armor protects you from that element.
- Steal from bosses with the Steal Materia; several hand over strong gear you can't buy yet.
- Use Enemy Skill Materia and learn skills like Big Guard, White Wind and Matra Magic from enemies early.
- Keep characters you don't use leveled a little, since the story forces party changes at a few points.
- Breed and race chocobos at the Chocobo Farm and Gold Saucer; it unlocks some of the game's best rewards.
- Don't rush through Wall Market and the Gold Saucer: there are side scenes and items that are easy to miss.
