Loved
- Big, open Sword Coast to explore
- Memorable companions like Minsc and Imoen
- Faithful D&D rules
Not so much
- Low-level characters die very easily
- Lots of empty wilderness maps
Play it if fans of classic D&D and slow-burn fantasy adventures.
Skip it if players who want fast combat or modern convenience.
Every Baldur's Gate cheat we know
Single-player only. Cheats can turn off achievements and some saves; use them on a spare save.
Play it better
- Keep fragile mages and thieves at the back and let fighters take the hits.
- Ranged attacks are deadly at low levels. Give everyone a sling or bow.
- Save before every fight. One bad roll can wipe out a level-one party.
- Buy healing potions and antidotes in bulk. Spiders and poison are everywhere.
- Keep companions with matching morals together, or evil and good ones will start fighting or leave.
