Elden Ring Nightreign
Nightreign compresses Elden Ring into a three-day roguelite run: three Nightfarers drop into Limveld, sprint between camps and castles to power up while a storm closes in, then face a Nightlord at the end. It's FromSoftware doing a battle-royale-shaped co-op game, and the core is thrilling.
The characters are distinct and fun, the bosses are classic FromSoftware spectacle, and a coordinated trio is one of the best co-op feelings around. Solo play is markedly weaker, and the limited map variety shows over dozens of runs.
It's a spin-off, priced like one, and it knows what it is. With a regular squad, add a point to the score.
Kit liked
- Thrilling compressed runs
- Distinct, fun character classes
- Great boss fights
- Excellent with a coordinated trio
Kit didn't
- A weak solo experience
- Limited map variety
- Random matchmaking is hit-and-miss
- Stick together on day one. Splitting up early is how trios get wiped.
- Watch the storm. Plan your route around where the circle is closing.
- Learn your Nightfarer's Ultimate Art. It's often the move that wins the fight.
Elden Ring as a 40-minute co-op heist. Brilliant with friends, bruising alone.Kit · Sadkitty Games · Est. 1995
