Loved

  • Faithful to the classic gameplay
  • Great painterly style
  • Brought the genre back

Not so much

  • Boss Seth is frustrating
  • Super Street Fighter IV versions are better

Play it if anyone who loved Street Fighter II and wants a modern version.

Skip it if players who find tight link combos tedious.

Cheats & codes

No cheat codes

Street Fighter IV doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.

Tips

Play it better

  1. Medium punch plus medium kick does a Focus Attack, which absorbs a hit and stuns on full charge.
  2. Dash out of a Focus Attack to cancel moves and make them safe.
  3. The Ultra meter fills when you take damage; save it for comebacks.
  4. Many combos are tight links, so practise them in Training mode.
  5. Challenge mode teaches each character's combos step by step.
