Monster Hunter goes seamless, with huge open regions, weather that shifts between harsh storms and plenty, and a bird-like Seikret mount that carries you between hunts. You track giant monsters, fight them with one of 14 weapon types and carve them up for better gear. It's the most approachable entry in the series.

Cheats & codes
No cheat codes
Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.
Tips
Play it better
- Your Seikret carries a second weapon, so pair a slow weapon with a fast one and swap mid-hunt.
- Focus Mode lets you aim at wounds; hitting them with a focus strike does huge damage and drops extra materials.
- Set up pop-up camps near monster territory so you can rest, eat and change gear without going back to base.
- Eat a meal before every tough hunt; the health and stamina buffs are big.
- Fire an SOS flare to call in NPC support hunters when you're playing solo and struggling.
- Learn your weapon's offset or counter move in the training area; landing it can topple a monster.
