Tips & secrets
About the game

Samus, infected by a parasite called X, explores a research station where an unstoppable clone of herself is hunting her. It's a more guided Metroid with real horror and some of the best bosses in the series.

Kit's verdict · 8.9/10A tense, scary, gorgeous Metroid that trades freedom for fear and nails it. Kit · Sadkitty Games

Loved

  • The SA-X chases are terrifying
  • Superb boss fights
  • Beautiful sprite work

Not so much

  • Very linear for a Metroid
  • Frequent mission briefings break the flow

Play it if anyone who wants a tight, scary action game.

Skip it if players who love Metroid's open-ended exploration.

Tips

Play it better

  1. Run from the SA-X in the early game; you can't beat it until much later.
  2. Use the map from navigation rooms to find hidden areas you missed.
  3. Morph ball through tight spaces and test walls with bombs; many hide missile tanks.
  4. Charge your beam before big fights; it does far more damage.
  5. Learn the Shinespark: run until you glow, press Down to store it, then jump to launch.
