Sora, Donald and Goofy wake up to a new threat from the mysterious Organization XIII and travel through Disney worlds and Final Fantasy cameos to stop it. It refined the original's rough combat into one of the slickest action RPG systems Square ever made.

The series' peak for combat, with a story that's as baffling as it is sincere.Kit · Sadkitty Games
Loved
- Fast, flashy combat with Drive Forms and Reaction Commands
- Huge boss variety and brilliant superbosses
- Utada Hikaru's theme and Yoko Shimomura's score
Not so much
- Slow, long prologue before you take control of Sora
- Story makes little sense without the spin-offs
Play it if action fans who love Disney and Final Fantasy crossovers.
Skip it if anyone who wants a self-contained story or hates heavy exposition.
Cheats & codes
No cheat codes
Kingdom Hearts II doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.
Tips
Play it better
- Watch for the triangle prompt in fights. Reaction Commands deal huge damage and dodge boss attacks.
- Drive Forms level up by using them in specific ways, such as Valor Form by hitting enemies and Wisdom Form by defeating Heartless.
- Final Form and Valor Form give you High Jump, Glide and Quick Run upgrades that also work in normal form.
- Equip Second Chance and Once More before hard boss fights so you can't be juggled to death.
- Pick up synthesis materials constantly. Moogle shops turn them into top-tier gear and the Ultima Weapon.
- Play on Proud or Critical Mode once you're comfortable; the combat shines at higher difficulty.
