Tips & secrets
About the game

You guide a frog across a busy road and a dangerous river to reach five safe homes. It's a pure timing game, and it became one of the era's biggest crossover hits.

Kit's verdict · 7.6/10Simple, charming and cruel, with a great sense of rhythm. Kit · Sadkitty Games

Loved

  • Easy to understand at a glance
  • Timing-based design still works
  • Catchy music

Not so much

  • Gets repetitive fast
  • Hitbox deaths feel unfair at times

Play it if casual players and anyone who likes timing puzzles.

Skip it if players who want depth beyond a few minutes.

Cheats & codes

No cheat codes

Frogger doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.

Tips

Play it better

  1. Wait on the middle median strip to time the river logs instead of rushing.
  2. Diving turtles sink after a moment, so hop off them quickly when they start to flash.
  3. You can ride on an alligator's back but its open mouth kills you.
  4. Watch for snakes and otters on the logs in later rounds.
  5. Each forward hop scores points, so move steadily rather than hopping sideways.
  6. Don't drift off the screen edge while riding a log, because that kills you.
