Three very different races, the Terrans, Zerg and Protoss, fight a war across the stars in Blizzard's real-time strategy classic. Its near-perfect balance turned it into the backbone of professional esports in South Korea.
Kit's verdict · 9.4/10
Three races, zero shared units and almost perfect balance. Strategy games still haven't topped it.Kit · Sadkitty Games
Loved
- Three truly different races that still feel fair
- A gripping campaign with real characters
- Endless replay value in skirmish and custom maps
Not so much
- The original interface limits you to 12 units per group
- Hard for newcomers to keep up with the speed
Play it if anyone who likes fast thinking, tight strategy and space opera.
Skip it if players who want slow, turn-based planning.

Tips
Play it better
- Keep your main base building workers nonstop for the first several minutes. A steady economy beats any single clever move.
- Put your army on number keys with Ctrl plus a number, then press the number to select them instantly.
- Protoss shields recharge on their own, so pull hurt units back for a few seconds instead of letting them die.
- Terran siege tanks in Siege Mode outrange almost everything on the ground. Park them on high ground to hold a choke point.
- Zerg can burrow units once researched, which is great for ambushes and for hiding from enemies without detection.
