A boy pulls a rusty sword from a stone and sets off with two friends to restore the Mana Tree. Its real-time combat and three-player co-op made it one of the SNES's most beloved adventures.

Loved

- Hiroki Kikuta's dreamy soundtrack
- Clever ring menu
Not so much
- AI allies get stuck on walls
- Leveling magic is a grind
Play it if friends who want to share an RPG on one couch.
Skip it if players who hate clunky combat and grinding.

Tips
Play it better
- Wait for the attack meter to reach 100 percent before striking; low-charge hits do little damage.
- Level magic by casting spells repeatedly in safe places, like a town or inn, then resting.
- Bring Weapon Orbs to the dwarf Watts to upgrade your weapons.
- Set ally AI behaviour in the menu so they keep distance and don't chase enemies into traps.
- Buy new armour in every town; defence matters more than you'd think.
