You arrive on an empty island with a library of strange books that transport you to other worlds, called Ages. There are no enemies and no instructions, only puzzles and a mystery about two trapped brothers. It sold millions and helped sell CD-ROM drives.

Still a gorgeous, lonely puzzle box, even if some solutions feel like homework.Kit · Sadkitty Games
Loved
- Haunting, quiet atmosphere
- Every puzzle is part of the world
- No combat, no deaths
Not so much
- Some puzzles are brutal without notes
- Slide-show movement feels dated
Play it if puzzle lovers who like slow exploration and a notebook by the keyboard.
Skip it if players who want action or clear goals.

Myst doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.
Tips
Play it better
- Keep a notebook; almost every puzzle needs info you found somewhere else.
- Turn on every marker switch on the island; the note at the dock tells you to, and it matters.
- Each Age has a red page and a blue page; you can only carry one at a time.
- Read the books in the library carefully; they describe the Ages before you visit.
- Sounds and colors are often part of the solution, so play with the sound on.
- Count the clock tower chimes and gear settings; small details matter.
