Tips & secrets
About the game

Tidus, a star athlete, is swept into the world of Spira and joins a young summoner on her pilgrimage to defeat a monster called Sin. It was the first Final Fantasy with voice acting and fully 3D worlds, and it's one of the series' best-loved stories.

Kit's verdict · 8.9/10A gorgeous, heartfelt journey with the series' smartest turn-based combat. Kit · Sadkitty Games

Loved

  • Tactical turn-based battles where you can swap anyone in
  • Sphere Grid makes leveling flexible
  • A story with real emotional weight

Not so much

  • Very linear for most of the game
  • Some infamous voice acting moments

Play it if RPG fans who like strategic battles and big emotional stories.

Skip it if players who want open worlds or fast action.

Cheats & codes

No cheat codes

Final Fantasy X doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.

Tips

Play it better

  1. Swap party members mid-battle freely, since anyone who acts earns AP.
  2. Collect all the Al Bhed Primers to translate the Al Bhed language as you go.
  3. Use Wakka on flying enemies, Lulu on armored ones, and Tidus or Rikku on fast ones.
  4. Learn Jecht Shot for blitzball on the boat ride, because it can't be learned later.
  5. Keep spare Phoenix Downs and use Rikku's Steal on bosses for good items.
  6. Customize armor with abilities like Auto-Phoenix and Break HP Limit later on.
