A hero sets out to defeat the archfiend Baramos and follow in the footsteps of a lost father. It's the original's prequel and the game that turned Dragon Quest into a national event in Japan.
Kit's verdict · 7.9/10
Historic and still fun, especially in the HD-2D remake, but the original shows its age.Kit · Sadkitty Games
Loved
- Class change system was ahead of its time
- Big world to sail freely
- HD-2D remake adds polish and a new class
Not so much
- Random encounters can grind you down
- Very little story
Play it if fans of classic RPG roots who want to see where it all started.
Skip it if players who need a strong narrative or modern pacing.
