A first-person RPG set in Night City, a neon megacity run by corporations and gangs. You play V, a mercenary with a dead rock star's ghost stuck in your head. It launched as a famous disaster and was rebuilt over three years into one of the best RPGs of its era.
Kit's verdict · 8.6/10
The greatest comeback story in modern gaming, and now a genuinely great game.Kit · Sadkitty Games
Loved
- Night City is stunning and dense
- Superb main story and side quests
- Update 2.0 fixed the combat and builds
Not so much
- Launch-era reputation still hangs over it
- Police and open-world systems feel thin
Play it if players who love dark sci-fi, strong writing and flexible builds.
Skip it if anyone wanting a living, reactive sandbox like Grand Theft Auto.
Cheats & codes
No cheat codes
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.
Tips
Play it better
- Your lifepath (Nomad, Street Kid or Corpo) only changes the opening and some dialogue, so pick the flavor you like.
- Quickhacks can win fights without firing a shot; a netrunner build pinging and hacking through cameras is very strong.
- Check your cyberware capacity before buying implants; after update 2.0 it's the real limit on your build.
- Side jobs from fixers and the big named side quests are often better than the main story missions.
- Sell or dismantle junk constantly; it's an easy early money source.
- Use the NCART metro added in update 2.1 if you're tired of driving.
