Isaac flees into the basement from his mother and fights through grotesque, randomly built dungeons with tears as bullets. Hundreds of items stack in wild ways, and expansions turned it into one of the deepest roguelikes ever made.

Loved
- Hundreds of items with wild combinations
- Enormous replay value
- Expansions add a staggering amount
Not so much
- Disturbing imagery isn't for everyone
- Item effects are rarely explained
Play it if players who love discovering broken item combos run after run.
Skip it if anyone put off by body horror or who wants a clear tutorial.
Cheats & codes
No cheat codes
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.
Tips
Play it better
- Secret rooms usually sit next to three or four other rooms. Bomb walls there.
- Beat a boss without losing red heart health and you're more likely to get a Devil or Angel room.
- Devil deals cost max health and are often worth it. Angel rooms are free.
- Item descriptions are minimal, so learn items by name or check a wiki between runs.
- Use a bomb on a shopkeeper statue or slot machine for a chance at extra drops.
- Save keys for item rooms and shops on early floors.
