Tips & secrets
About the game

A fast roguelike-Metroidvania where you play a blob of cells that takes over a body in a cursed island prison. Every run reshuffles the levels and weapons, and permanent upgrades slowly open new paths.

Kit's verdict · 9.0/10The tightest combat in any roguelike, and years of free updates on top. Kit · Sadkitty Games

Loved

  • Snappy, satisfying combat
  • Huge variety of weapons and builds
  • Years of free content updates

Not so much

  • Boss Cell difficulty gets punishing
  • Unlocks can feel slow early on

Play it if action fans who want quick, replayable runs that reward skill.

Skip it if players who hate losing progress or want a strong story.

Cheats & codes

No cheat codes

Dead Cells doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.

Tips

Play it better

  1. Spend Cells with the Collector between levels. Unspent Cells are lost when you die.
  2. Pick Scrolls of Power in one color (Brutality, Tactics or Survival) so your best weapons scale together.
  3. Rolling makes you pass through enemies and attacks. Use it often.
  4. Shields can parry most attacks with good timing, which stuns enemies and blocks all damage.
  5. Runes, earned from elites and bosses, give permanent movement powers that open new routes.
  6. Some doors are timed. Reach them fast enough and you get bonus gear and gold.
