Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a crossover fighting game for the Nintendo Switch and the fifth main entry in the series. It features every playable fighter from previous installments alongside new additions such as Inkling and Ridley. The game includes faster combat, new items, and expanded defensive mechanics. Tips
Play it better
- Unlock fighters faster by beating Classic Mode again and again. A new challenger shows up after each run.
- A new challenger also appears every ten minutes or so of play in any mode, so even casual sessions unlock characters.
- Turn off 'tap jump' in the controls so you stop jumping by accident when you push up.
- Press attack and jump together for an instant short hop with an aerial. It's the base of good combos.
- Shield, then grab right away when an attack bounces off you. Shield grabs punish almost everything.
- Lose a challenger fight? Rematch it later from the Challenger's Approach door in the Games and More menu.
