Tips & secrets
About the game

Two teams of six heroes, each with wildly different powers, fight over objectives in a colourful, team-based shooter. It defined the hero shooter genre, then was replaced by the free-to-play Overwatch 2 in 2022.

Kit's verdict · 8.4/10A brilliant team shooter whose original form no longer exists. Kit · Sadkitty Games

Loved

  • Heroes with distinct, memorable personalities
  • Team play matters more than aim
  • Bright, readable art style

Not so much

  • The original game was shut down and can't be played
  • Solo queue can be miserable without teamwork

Play it if players who love teamwork, roles and big ultimate combos.

Skip it if anyone who wants a solo campaign or hates relying on random teammates.

Cheats & codes

No cheat codes

Overwatch doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.

Tips

Play it better

  1. Stay near your healers and fight as a group. Trickling in one by one loses fights.
  2. Swap heroes mid-match to counter the enemy team. It's a core part of the game.
  3. Combine ultimates with teammates, like Zarya's Graviton Surge followed by a big damage ultimate.
  4. Play the objective. Standing on the point wins more games than chasing kills.
  5. Learn where health packs sit on each map so you can heal without a support.
  6. Watch the kill feed. If your team loses two players, fall back and regroup.
