Choose a Fighter, Cleric or Mage and travel through linked hub worlds to defeat the Serpent Rider Korax. Hexen adds classes, puzzles and an interconnected world to the DOOM-engine shooter.
Kit's verdict · 7.7/10
Ambitious and atmospheric, but its switch-hunting puzzles can be maddening.Kit · Sadkitty Games
Loved
- Three classes that genuinely play differently
- Interlinked hub worlds feel like real places
- Strong atmosphere and music
Not so much
- Switch puzzles with vague hints
- Easy to get lost between hub maps
Play it if fantasy fans who like exploration and replaying with different classes.
Skip it if players who want straight-line action without puzzles.

Tips
Play it better
- The Fighter is the easiest class for a first run. The Mage is the hardest early on but the strongest at range.
- Each class has a super weapon made of three pieces scattered across the world. Find them all.
- When a switch opens something 'far away', check the message and go back through the hub's portals.
- Use the Disc of Repulsion to push swarms of enemies away.
- The Porkalator turns enemies into pigs, and the Dark Servant summons a Maulotaur ally.
- Blue and green mana power different weapons. Balance which guns you use so you don't run dry.
