Tips & secrets
About the game

Rocket-powered cars play football with a giant ball. It's easy to grasp and almost endless to master, from first wobbly hits to flying aerial goals.

Kit's verdict · 8.9/10One of the purest skill games ever made, and the first goal you score in the air will hook you. Kit · Sadkitty Games

Loved

  • Instantly fun concept
  • Huge skill ceiling
  • Short, tense matches

Not so much

  • Steep wall once you hit higher play
  • Item shop and season pass clutter

Play it if anyone who loves competitive games where skill alone decides the winner.

Skip it if players who want a solo campaign or hate losing to better players.

Cheats & codes

No cheat codes

Rocket League doesn't have cheat codes. The tips and secrets below are the next best thing.

Tips

Play it better

  1. Toggle ball cam on most of the time, and switch it off to find your position or the boost pads.
  2. Small boost pads matter as much as the big ones; drive over them on your way to save time.
  3. For a basic aerial, jump, tilt back, then hold boost and steer toward the ball.
  4. Don't both chase the ball with a teammate; rotate back so someone always covers the goal.
  5. Use free play and custom training packs to drill shots, saves and aerials offline.
  6. Flip into the ball for extra power, and dodge into it from the side to steer shots.
  7. When defending, shadow the attacker back toward your goal instead of diving at them.
